A man in his thirties broke into the Galleriet shopping center in Bergen during the early hours of a Sunday morning. The incident occurred around 4 AM at the Torgallmenningen square location.

Surveillance footage captured the man moving through the complex. He first approached the Telenor mobile phone store. There he forced open the security gate and stole smartphones and smartwatches.

The thief then targeted the Bit snack bar. He took both the cash register and the tip jar from the establishment. He also attempted to steal a safe from Fruktbar, a fruit and vegetable shop within the center.

After gathering these items, the man disappeared into the night. Police later identified and arrested one suspect connected to the burglary. A Norwegian court has now convicted one man for his role in the break-in.

Galleriet is one of Bergen's largest and most prominent shopping centers. The complex houses numerous retail stores and restaurants in downtown Bergen. Such brazen thefts remain relatively uncommon in Norway's second-largest city.

This conviction shows that even quick overnight crimes don't escape notice in well-monitored public spaces. The extensive camera coverage throughout the shopping center provided crucial evidence for investigators.
