Central Finland's business climate remained subdued during early autumn according to the latest economic survey. Production decreased slightly across the region. Yet company expectations are trending upward.
The seasonally adjusted balance figure stood at -42, significantly weaker than typical levels. This indicator measures the difference between positive and negative responses in the survey.
Economic expectations for coming months have improved slightly above the zero line. The current balance figure reached +4 compared to -4 in July's survey. Central Finland's economic picture closely matches the national average.
Ari Hiltunen, managing director of Central Finland's Chamber of Commerce, noted the cautious optimism in a statement. "Although the economic situation in Central Finland remains subdued, we see guarded optimism in company expectations," he said. "Some businesses have prepared for future growth through investments and development. This clearly signals returning confidence."
The regional economy shows mixed performance across different sectors. While many industries continue to struggle, some companies report strong results. This divergence highlights the uneven nature of Finland's economic recovery.
Business investment decisions will be crucial for maintaining this positive momentum through the winter months.
