Cockroaches Found Among Visitors at Universeum
Universeum science center in Gothenburg faces cockroach infestations among visitor areas. Families spotted the insects in the children's play zone during recent visits. The center previously dealt with rat problems three years ago.

Universeum in Gothenburg faces new pest problems. Cockroaches now roam among visitors at the popular science center. This comes three years after the attraction dealt with major rat infestations.
Several families witnessed a large cockroach during a March visit. The reddish-brown insect walked across the floor of Miniverseum. That is the play area in the building's basement.
Other visitors report similar cockroach encounters at Universeum. The science center receives over 500,000 visitors annually. It stands near Korsvägen in central Gothenburg.
Charlotte Mansfield handles media relations for Universeum. She said cockroaches naturally live in their rainforest ecosystem. They serve as decomposers there.
But sometimes the insects escape through crevices. They then appear in other areas of the building. The science center appears to be struggling with basic pest control despite its scientific mission.
Gothenburg residents might question why a science center cannot manage common pests. Universeum previously solved its rat problem. Now it must address this new insect issue.
