Denmark Designates 11 New Industrial Parks to Boost Production

Denmark will establish 11 new state-designated industrial parks to accelerate manufacturing growth. The Business Ministry announced the initiative this week.

Industrial parks are designated areas where production companies can quickly set up factories and facilities. These zones provide access to essential infrastructure like electricity, water, and transportation networks.

Companies in these parks will access a streamlined one-stop-shop service through the Danish Business Authority. This system reduces bureaucracy and caps processing times for permits.

The government aims to speed up industrial development across Denmark. This comes as Nordic countries compete to attract green technology investments.

Five key industrial park locations include:

Esbjerg will host heavy industry focused on wind turbine components and green energy. The 158-hectare project includes 118 hectares of new construction areas.

Aalborg's 250-hectare site will specialize in green technology, carbon capture, and energy production. About 121 hectares represent new development.

Kalundborg gains a 234-hectare park dedicated to life sciences and green energy. 200 hectares are newly designated building plots.

Horsens will feature an 823-hectare complex for food industry technology and biosolutions. Long-term plans include defense and aviation sectors. 443 hectares are new construction zones.

Aabenraa's 696-hectare site will focus entirely on green energy production and storage. All areas represent new development opportunities.

Six additional industrial parks will be located in Viborg, Skive, Kalundborg, Næstved, Lolland, and Kerteminde municipalities.

The initiative represents a substantial land allocation for industrial development. Denmark appears serious about competing for manufacturing investments, particularly in green technology sectors where Nordic countries have strong advantages.
