A Finnish Spitz became trapped in rocky terrain at Pikkaanlampi in Ristiina. The rescue service received an emergency call around 12:30 PM on Monday afternoon.
The dog's owner reported the incident after being unable to free the animal themselves. Rescue workers responded with specialized equipment to assist with the dog rescue operation in Finland.
Joni Himberg, the duty firemaster from South Savo Rescue Department, explained the situation. He said the dog had become stuck among rocks and needed professional assistance for extraction.
The owner managed to provide food and water to the dog while waiting for rescue services. The animal remained in good condition throughout the ordeal.
Rescue workers used high-pressure airbags and a hydraulic ram to carefully free the dog. The operation concluded successfully before 2:30 PM, with the dog returning safely to its owner.
