The E45 at Stallbackabron, outside Trollhättan, is fully closed in the northbound direction after a side collision between a truck and a passenger car, SVT reported.
The rescue services were alerted to the accident at around 06.15. Two people were involved, one in each vehicle. Police and ambulance were also called to the scene, and there were no reports of personal injuries at that time.
"We are on site. We have a side collision between a truck and a car," said Andreas Elfström of the rescue services, who described the traffic impact as very large. "It is difficult to get through," he said.
Northbound traffic is completely stopped, while one lane remains open in the southbound direction. At 06.50, the rescue services said recovery of the car had begun. Elfström said they had a 30-minute prognosis, though it was unclear exactly when traffic would start moving again.
