A woman in North Jutland faced a disturbing midnight call this week. A man claiming to be police officer Claus Dahl contacted her between Wednesday and Thursday. He told the woman her bank account had been compromised. The fake officer urged her to grant him access to her NemKonto digital banking. Fortunately, the woman remained suspicious throughout the conversation. She then got transferred to a supposed IT department. Both callers pressed her for personal financial information. She refused to provide any details and they hung up. The woman immediately contacted her actual bank. Bank officials confirmed no money had been withdrawn from her accounts. North Jutland Police confirmed the incident in their daily report. This scam shows criminals are increasingly targeting digital banking systems. Authorities clearly need better public awareness campaigns about these sophisticated fraud attempts.
