Finnish Home Care Service Acquired in Third Quarter Deal

A Rautjärvi-based care company purchased Imatran Kotiapu Oy this week. The home care service will continue operating as its own limited company. All eight employees will keep their positions under the new ownership.

Änkilän Hoivapalvelu Oy completed the acquisition on Monday. The company belongs to Pointsi Oy, owned by Imatra residents Marko and Nina Puruskainen. This marks the second care facility in the company's growing portfolio.

Änkilän Hoivapalvelu already operates Silamuskoti care home in Simpele. The facility serves elderly and developmentally disabled clients in a converted village school. It also provides daycare places for local residents.

The company's service range includes home nursing care, cleaning services, and handyman assistance. This expansion strengthens their presence in South Karelia's care sector.

The previous owner will retire following the business transfer. The acquisition demonstrates ongoing consolidation in Finland's elderly care market as smaller operators exit the field.

What does this mean for care services in the region? Local residents now have access to a broader range of care options from a single provider. The transition appears smooth for both staff and clients.
