A fire broke out in the parking hall of the Flamingo Hotel in Vantaa, Finland, when a gasoline-powered passenger car caught fire, according to the local rescue department. The incident took place inside the hotel's parking facility, which is an enclosed structure. Emergency services were alerted immediately and responded with seven rescue units to manage the situation. Juhani Pitkänen, who was present at the scene, spoke to the Finnish newspaper Iltalehti about the event. He described the conditions as visually overwhelming due to dense smoke. "You couldn't see anything through the smoke while driving," he stated, highlighting how quickly visibility dropped inside the parking hall. The rescue department confirmed that the fire remained confined to the single vehicle and did not spread to any adjacent cars. This limited the extent of the damage to only the car that initially ignited. At the time of the fire, the parking hall was not in active use and had been taken out of service, which contributed to the absence of injuries. Authorities reported that no individuals were harmed during the incident. Following the extinguishing of the fire, normal operations resumed in the surrounding area. The response by emergency crews was swift, and their actions prevented escalation of the blaze.
