A former village store in Selänpää, Kouvola attracted seven bids before the deadline. The highest offer reached 5,200 euros. Kouvola municipality auctioned the property through an online platform. The bidding period closed Friday at noon.

The property includes two buildings constructed after 1956. The premises have stood empty but maintenance heating remained active.

Kouvola currently runs another auction for an old log building near Pilkanmaa School. This structure originally served as a school and later became the school cafeteria. Built in 1910, the starting price is 1,100 euros. No bids had been placed by Friday. That auction concludes on November 23 at 8 PM.

Municipalities frequently auction surplus properties to manage public assets. These sales provide opportunities for community revitalization. The modest bidding activity suggests cautious local interest in rural commercial properties.
