A hacker group claims to have stolen 2.5 terabytes of data from Telia, according to Norway’s public broadcaster NRK. The group states it has uploaded more than half a million files to the so-called dark web. Telia has confirmed the data breach to NRK. Daniel Barhom, Chief Information Officer at Telia Norway, said the company detected the breach in late November 2025. He explained that a criminal actor gained unauthorized access to a smaller part of Telia Norway’s IT environment. In the limited scope of the intrusion, the attackers obtained sensitive customer identification information and internal corporate data. According to NRK, the hackers assert that the stolen data includes details about Norwegian customers’ account relationships, financial documents, internal correspondence, contracts, and invoices from Telia. Telia confirms that individuals affected by the breach have been notified. The company did not specify how many customers were impacted. The breach involves data from Telia Norway only. No other Telia operations in the Nordic region are mentioned as affected in the report. The incident highlights a cybersecurity event involving one of Norway’s major telecommunications providers. Telia continues to investigate the matter alongside relevant authorities. The leaked files reportedly remain accessible on dark web platforms. No ransom demands or further communications from the hacker group have been disclosed publicly at this time.
