Helsinki Book Fair Sets New Attendance Record

The Helsinki Book Fair attracted over 104,000 visitors during its four-day run. This marks a new attendance record for the popular literary event. The fair took place from Thursday through Sunday at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.

Event organizers confirmed the record-breaking numbers on Sunday. The combined Helsinki Book Fair and Wine & Food Fair reached the highest attendance in the convention center's history. Last year's event drew approximately 97,500 visitors, which was also a record at that time.

As the largest literary event in the Nordic countries, the Helsinki Book Fair featured more than 1,000 programs across 17 stages. Nearly 1,700 presenters participated in the four-day event. The fair transforms Helsinki into a literary hub each autumn, bringing together authors, publishers and book lovers from across Finland and beyond.

This consistent growth in attendance shows Finland's strong reading culture remains vibrant despite digital distractions. The record numbers suggest physical book events continue to hold significant appeal in an increasingly digital world.
