A Helsinki woman faces new criminal charges just days after appearing in court for a fatal drug-related incident. The 30-year-old woman answered charges of aggravated manslaughter on Tuesday. Her court session started late because she failed to appear on Monday. Authorities had to send officers to locate her.

Police now suspect the woman stole a luxury vehicle worth 72,000 euros from a car dealership. Officers arrested her two days later after receiving public reports. Witnesses reported suspicious activity around the expensive Range Rover.

Criminal Commissioner Lasse Manninen said in a statement that bystanders noticed questionable people gathered around the high-value vehicle.

The woman faces additional allegations beyond the car theft. Police are investigating her for serious traffic safety violations that occurred earlier this year. Officers want to keep her detained to prevent further crimes.

Manninen explained the detention request stems from concern about repeated offenses. Authorities want to break her cycle of criminal behavior.

The suspect has an extensive criminal history stretching back to her teenage years. Helsinki police are currently examining other suspected crimes. These include serious drug offenses and concealment crimes.

Investigators connect the crimes to alpha-PVP, commonly called flakka. Manninen emphasized this drug appears frequently in similar cases. He described the situation as concerning.

The original manslaughter charge involves a failed drug deal in Helsinki's Kalasatama district. That incident also involved alpha-PVP.

The 30-year-old woman drove away from Capella Park Street in Kalasatama during early morning hours last year. She left a 29-year-old man dying on the road. Police initially suspected intentional homicide but reduced the charge to aggravated manslaughter.

The deceased man was a father of two children. He was also the brother of a well-known athlete and social media influencer. Both brothers had publicly commented on the tragic death in recent years.

Court records show the woman began her criminal career as a minor. The mother of two young children has previous convictions for assault, fraud, and traffic offenses.

This case highlights how synthetic drugs like alpha-PVP can fuel repeated criminal behavior. The suspect's rapid return to alleged crimes after court appearances suggests deeper systemic issues in rehabilitation and monitoring.
