Jyväskylä City Council will decide today on the city's land use, housing and transportation implementation program for the next decade. The program called KymppiR will determine schedules for zoning new residential areas, land transfers and municipal infrastructure construction.

Transportation planning will focus on programming main walking and cycling network projects.

KymppiR gets updated annually but typically reaches the council only once per council term. There should be time for discussion since the agenda isn't particularly long.

Other matters for decision include the city library plot's zoning change. This aims to expand the library building's usage possibilities. The zoning change prepared the library for sale and new private ownership purposes, but no purchase offers were received.

The council will also decide on a loan guarantee for Jyväskylä Region Wastewater Treatment Ltd's investments.

The meeting starts at 6 PM and can be followed via live stream.

This comprehensive planning decision comes as Finnish municipalities face pressure to balance development needs with sustainable urban growth. The lack of offers for the library building suggests either unrealistic expectations or limited market interest in the property's current form.
