Laukaa municipality and Hirvi Arena's owner Leppävesi Areena Oy have resolved their dispute about construction shortcomings. The municipal board addressed the matter during its Monday meeting. An independent consultant had identified multiple deficiencies in the arena building.
The central question was whether Hirvi Arena met contractual obligations between the municipality and property owner. Both parties have now reached a formal agreement about remediation work.
During summer and early autumn, the arena owner corrected 69 identified defects. Work continues through this season with additional improvements planned.
The property owner committed to fixing several remaining issues. These include the passageway between Hirvi Arena and overpressure control systems, acoustic treatments, induction loop installations, and accessibility at main entrances and facilities.
This resolution comes after thorough inspection and negotiation between the parties. The arena serves as an important regional sports and events venue in Central Finland.
Local officials expressed satisfaction with the progress made. The building now meets higher standards for public use and safety.
What prompted the inspection? Consultants evaluated whether the arena fulfilled all contractual requirements. Their report detailed specific areas needing improvement.
Property owners have demonstrated commitment to addressing all concerns. The timeline for remaining work extends through the current quarter.
