Police in Sollentuna municipality are conducting a large-scale search operation for an 80-year-old woman with dementia who disappeared Sunday evening. Authorities used helicopters with thermal cameras and dog patrols throughout Monday but haven't located the woman.
The woman vanished from her home in Rotebro, a suburban district north of Stockholm, around 8:30 PM on Sunday. She has short gray hair, stands about 150 cm tall, and was wearing a military-green jacket.
Police spokesperson Anders Bryngelsson said in a statement they're focusing the search around Rotebro but acknowledged uncertainty about her location. Officials received reports Monday morning suggesting she might have been spotted on a commuter train.
