A large-scale search operation continues in Telemark for a woman in her forties who has been missing for nearly two days. She failed to return home from a training walk in the Tokke area on Saturday morning. Operational leader Stian Storstrøm Michelsen confirmed the search is proceeding at full strength. He stated that personnel from the Red Cross, Norwegian Rescue Dogs, the Norwegian Alpine Rescue Group, and the Civil Defense are all involved. Police helicopters and other police resources are also deployed. The focus is on the area between Ravnejuvsvingen and LĂ¥rdalsstigen, with up to 70 people searching on Monday evening.
"The weather is challenging," Storstrøm Michelsen said in an update. "The weather is not entirely on our side. There is low cloud cover, and we are getting little help from air resources." He described the search as time-consuming due to the large area and demanding conditions. The missing woman's car was located on a parking lot near Ravnejuv.
Despite the elapsed time, officials maintain hope. "There is still hope of finding her alive. We continue with full strength," Storstrøm Michelsen stated. When asked about the critical nature of the timeline, he noted, "She has been missing for a very, very long time. It is well over two days since she was last seen. But everything depends on what her situation is."
