A Swedish tax official in Örebro received threatening emails containing disturbing images. The messages included a fabricated newspaper headline claiming his family died in a fire. They also featured a fake gravestone bearing his daughter's name and death date.

The official described the experience as horrific and deeply offensive. He stated he has not shown the email to his daughter.

Police allege the suspect also called another tax official a whore 48 separate times. That official reported taking a personal alarm home for protection. She expressed feeling unsafe in her work environment.

Prosecutors have now charged the man at Ã…ngermanland District Court. The charges include threats against civil servants and unlawful intimidation. The defendant denies all criminal allegations.

Court records show the man has previous criminal convictions. He was previously sentenced to four years in prison for arson in Örnsköldsvik. That fire occurred in his apartment the night before his scheduled eviction.

Tax collection work often involves confrontations with angry citizens, but this case represents an extreme escalation of threats against public officials. The psychological impact on targeted officials can be severe and long-lasting.
