Bollnäs Church in Sweden opened its doors for a memorial service honoring two young women killed in a traffic accident. The tragic crash occurred on Highway 83 between Bollnäs and Arbrå towns.

Church pastor Ingrid Augrell said the gathering provided space for collective mourning. "This is an opportunity to come together," Augrell stated. "People can share experiences, pray, and listen to music. No one should be alone during difficult times."

The parish center opened twice on Sunday for people affected by the fatal collision. A priest led the memorial service focused on quiet reflection.

Five additional people suffered injuries in the accident. Two men sustained serious injuries while three others received minor injuries.

Police arrested a woman in her twenties and a man in his thirties. Both face charges of gross negligence in traffic, serious bodily harm, and causing another's death.

Highway 83 connects several towns in Hälsingland county, about 200 kilometers north of Stockholm. The region's rural roads often lack dividers and present challenging driving conditions during changing seasons.

This tragic incident highlights the ongoing road safety challenges in Sweden's northern regions, where emergency response times can be longer due to greater distances between communities.
