A minor faces charges for allegedly committing sexual offenses against 11 women while using an electric scooter in Helsinki. Police say the accused approached women from behind in multiple incidents.

The prosecutor filed charges detailing how the underage suspect allegedly sexually harassed or assaulted victims. In several cases, the individual reportedly used an electric scooter to approach women unexpectedly from behind.

Police first announced the investigation in June. The suspect allegedly groped or touched women primarily on their buttocks. In some instances, he physically restrained the victims.

The incidents occurred between March and June in Helsinki's Haaga district and surrounding areas. Locations included Central Park, Aino Ackté Park, and Riistavuori Park.

Authorities stated the suspect has largely admitted to the alleged acts. During interrogations, he could not provide a reason for his behavior.

Sexual harassment in Finland involves violating another person's sexual self-determination through physical contact. Sexual assault carries stricter penalties, with possible imprisonment from four months to four years.

Police identified the suspect through their preliminary investigation. The case will be heard in Helsinki District Court in December.

Electric scooters have become increasingly common in Finnish cities, raising questions about public safety and youth access to shared mobility devices. The case highlights ongoing challenges in balancing urban transportation innovation with community security.
