Western Norway will see the most precipitation with expected rainfall throughout the weekend. The Meteorological Institute has also issued storm and gale warnings for large sections of the western coastline. Southern and Eastern Norway may experience some precipitation on Thursday but generally expect drier conditions with temperatures approaching 10 degrees.
While the weekend begins with milder weather, colder temperatures are forecast to return next week. This temperature swing appears likely to affect most parts of the country.
"Toward the weekend we expect a low-pressure system that will bring wind and precipitation," Andersen noted. "As we reach the end of the weekend, around Saturday and Sunday, temperatures will drop again. Then cooler air masses will return, so it's somewhat fluctuating."
