Nearly One in Four Norwegians Report Low Life Satisfaction

Nearly one in four Norwegians express dissatisfaction with their quality of life. Recent statistics reveal that 24.8 percent of the population reports low life satisfaction.

The data comes from the national statistics bureau's latest quality of life survey. The research measures people's subjective perceptions of their own wellbeing.

Survey participants rated their satisfaction across multiple life areas. They evaluated overall life contentment, sense of meaning, feelings of mastery, and both positive and negative emotions.

The average satisfaction score currently stands at 6.9 on a 0-10 scale. Younger adults aged 25-44 report the lowest satisfaction levels at 6.6. People over 80 years old show the highest satisfaction with an average score of 7.6.

This pattern suggests Norway faces particular challenges supporting younger adults' wellbeing despite the country's high living standards. The generation that should be in their prime working and family years appears to be struggling most with life satisfaction.
