Villa Satakieli emerged as the visitor favorite at the Oulu Housing Fair. The single-story wooden house won best show home, best interior design, and best kitchen categories.
The home features a combined living room and kitchen spanning 56 square meters. Nearly wall-sized windows flood the space with natural light. The kitchen showcases green cabinetry and a matching island.
Second place went to Kontio Vehmas, praised for its marble bathroom and patterned wood paneling. Visitors called the home's features 'luxurious' and 'incredibly stylish' according to fair officials.
Third place was shared between Huvilainen and Villa Prykä in a tight competition.
Kontio Vehmas also claimed the best yard category. Its spacious terrace area features a hot tub with direct access from the garden sauna.
The housing fair took place during the summer at Oulu's Hartaanselänranta waterfront area. These annual events showcase new housing trends and designs across Finland.
Housing fairs serve as important indicators of Finnish design preferences. The clear winner dominating multiple categories suggests Villa Satakieli's open layout and large windows resonated strongly with visitors seeking light-filled living spaces.
