Norwegian police confirmed they found an object on Friday evening in the forest behind the crime scene in Arna. Operations leader Dan Erik Johannessen stated that forensic technicians have secured the item. It will undergo further examination to determine whether it is the murder weapon used in the killing. The discovery occurred during ongoing investigative efforts following a fatal incident earlier in the week. A man in his twenties from Afghanistan was killed outside his apartment in Arna, Bergen, on Sunday evening. His wife sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. A man in his thirties, an Afghan citizen residing in the Bergen area, has been charged with the murder but denies criminal responsibility. On Thursday afternoon, a court ordered him held in pretrial detention with restrictions on mail and visits. Police are seeking public assistance to identify individuals who may have observed the suspect’s vehicle on Sunday, February 8, between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. The vehicle is described as a black Toyota Verso from the 2010 model year. Authorities encourage anyone with relevant information, photographs, or video footage from that time and location to contact them immediately. The investigation remains active as forensic analysis continues on the recovered object.
