A former school employee in Uppsala received a three-year, nine-month prison sentence for serious sexual crimes against young girls. The district court convicted the man on all 16 counts involving elementary school-aged victims.
The man worked as a resource staff member, caretaker, and after-school teacher at the Uppsala school. He began employment in 2023 and committed offenses until spring 2025 when authorities arrested him.
Evidence included the girls' testimonies and technical proof like images and videos found in his possession. Court officials noted the children provided consistent accounts without signs of coordination.
"Nothing suggests the children gave incorrect information during interviews or conspired in their statements," said court official Nils PÃ¥lbrant in a press release.
The convicted man had no prior criminal record and denied all charges. He had worked in education for many years at multiple schools.
This case reveals troubling security gaps in Swedish schools where trusted adults exploited system vulnerabilities. The extended abuse period suggests either inadequate supervision or institutional reluctance to address warning signs.
