A teacher who disrupted a Stavanger City Council meeting will not face legal consequences. Andreas Høy Knudsen led nearly 40 students in a protest against education budget cuts on October 20.

Police have decided to drop the investigation into the incident. They concluded there was no reasonable grounds to pursue the case further.

"I had hoped for this outcome," Knudsen said in a statement. "It was a political statement. This had to happen the way it did. I am satisfied with the police assessment."

The police prosecutor explained their reasoning clearly. "After thorough consideration, we decided to close the case as there's no basis for investigation," officials stated. "Expressing political views is part of freedom of speech."

Knudsen organized the demonstration to protest school funding reductions. He brought students to the council meeting to voice their concerns directly to elected officials.

The teacher hasn't ruled out similar actions in the future. "If necessary to remind elected officials of the trust they enjoy from us residents, then action must be taken," he noted.

However, Knudsen doubts he'll need to repeat the same protest method. He expressed confidence in Stavanger's municipal leadership after the incident.

"I see they're listening and responding to needs in the education sector," he observed. "That's very encouraging."

Knudsen has committed to using standard communication channels first. He will contact municipal leadership through normal procedures before considering more drastic measures.

The case highlights the balance between political protest and official proceedings. Norwegian authorities often show leniency toward non-violent political expression, even when it disrupts formal events.
