Student Suspected of Assaulting Teacher During School Break

Police in southwestern Finland are investigating a serious assault case at Nakkila Comprehensive School. A student under age 15 allegedly attacked a teacher during morning recess on Monday.

Authorities are treating the incident as aggravated assault. No weapons were used in the attack according to preliminary information.

Emergency services transported the teacher to hospital for examination. The suspected student left the scene but was located by police by mid-afternoon.

Nakkila Comprehensive School serves students from 7th grade through high school graduation. Approximately 300 students attend the institution.

School principal Jari Koski confirmed several students witnessed the assault. He declined to comment on what preceded the incident or details about the suspected student.

"The school's handling of events remains ongoing," Koski said in a statement. Staff will discuss the incident internally.

Student care services, church workers and youth workers will be available to students, particularly on Tuesday. Classes continue normally despite the incident.

This represents one of Finland's rare school violence cases, striking a system known for its safe educational environments. The young age of the suspected assailant raises particular concerns about school safety protocols.
