Over 120 students discovered local volunteer opportunities during the Journey Through Matara event. The civic activity center hosted this annual gathering on October 9. Participants came from Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences, University of Jyväskylä, and Humak University of Applied Sciences.
Students began with an information session before visiting organization booths. More than 20 groups presented their community work. The event has connected students with volunteer opportunities since 2012.
Attendees could also visit the Pimé Café experience coffee shop during the event. This unique café is operated by the Central Finland Association of the Visually Impaired. It provides employment opportunities while raising awareness about visual impairment.
