Three men have been formally charged in connection with a violent robbery in Copenhagen’s Northwest Quarter, where two victims were lured using fake gold bars as bait. According to the indictment, the suspects—aged 18, 27, and 31—used a fraudulent Facebook profile to contact the victims and offered to sell gold bars for 47,000 Danish kroner. All three defendants deny the charges, said Rolf Gregersen, defense attorney for the youngest accused.
The meeting was arranged for September 6 at approximately 9 p.m. on Tornsangervej. When the victims arrived, they were threatened with a knife, physically assaulted, and robbed of 74,000 kroner before the perpetrators fled the scene in a car. The indictment notes that additional unidentified accomplices may have been involved in planning or executing the crime.
The case is set to be heard soon at Frederiksberg District Court. The suspects all have non-Danish ethnic backgrounds, a detail included in the official court documents. As Danish society continues to address complex social dynamics, incidents like this raise questions about integration and youth engagement within urban communities. But legal proceedings remain focused solely on the facts of the alleged offense.
