Three Students Arrested After Violent Incident at Norwegian School

Police received an emergency call from school staff at 9:48 AM on Tuesday. Officers responded immediately to Rælingen Upper Secondary School near Oslo.

When police arrived, they found a male student with serious injuries. The injured student required urgent medical attention and was transported by ambulance to Ullevål Hospital.

Three male students were arrested as suspects in the violent episode. All individuals involved attend the same school according to police statements.

Operations leader Kjetil Elnas Ringseth confirmed the investigation is ongoing. "We have many patrols on site," Ringseth said. "Naturally there are many people present, both staff and students. We're working to understand what happened."

Police confirmed no weapons appear to have been used in the incident. They're seeking witnesses who might have information about the altercation.

This marks the second police response to the school this week. Officers also visited the school on Monday regarding another conflict. Investigators are examining whether the two incidents are connected.

School principal Mari Tønsberg confirmed the school has activated its crisis response team. "It's obviously very sad when someone chooses to resolve conflicts within the school," Tønsberg said in a statement. "But we're glad police arrived quickly and gained control of the situation."

The school is now focusing on informing and supporting both students and staff. Parents have been notified about the violent incident and assured the situation is under control.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns about school safety in Norway, where educational environments typically maintain strong safety records. The quick police response and immediate crisis management show established protocols are functioning, but the repeated incidents at one school raise questions about underlying tensions that need addressing.
