Two people have died in a house fire in Nittedal during the early hours of Saturday, according to Øst Police District. Authorities confirmed the fatalities but stated that formal identification of the deceased has not yet been completed. Police indicated it is reasonable to assume the victims are the individuals registered as residents at the address. The closest relatives of the deceased have been notified. Emergency services responded to the scene, according to Henrik Larsen, the operations commander speaking to NRK. By the time firefighters arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames. It took crews only minutes to enter the building and confirm that two people had perished inside. As of 5 a.m. Saturday morning, the fire was still burning in the residence, Larsen added. Officials confirmed there is no risk of the blaze spreading to nearby buildings. Police have not released any information about how the fire started. At this time, authorities have not provided details regarding whether an investigation into the cause of the fire has been initiated.
