Swedish state-owned energy company Vattenfall announced increased profits for the third quarter. The company's underlying operating profit reached nearly 6.2 billion kronor. This compares to 1.4 billion kronor during the same period last year.
Net sales also grew from 48.6 billion to 49.3 billion kronor. The improved results come despite ongoing energy market volatility across Europe.
Vattenfall operates as one of Europe's largest electricity and heat producers. The company provides energy to millions of customers across Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, and Finland.
The profit surge reflects both higher energy prices and improved operational performance. Many European energy companies have reported strong results amid the continent's ongoing energy transition.
Sweden's energy sector continues to show resilience despite economic uncertainties. The country maintains a diverse energy mix with substantial hydro, nuclear, and wind power generation.
