Winter has arrived in northern Norway. Traffic operator Tommy Aufles confirmed road conditions turned icy Monday morning. He said snowplows and salt trucks are already working across the region.

Police reported four trailers and two buses stuck on the E6 highway at Brandvollbakken around 8:46 AM. One trailer slid backward into a roadside barrier according to police logs.

Another trailer blocked traffic on the Gisund Bridge in Senja due to icy conditions. A taxi also veered off the road on the E6 in Takelvdalen, MĂĄlselv. No one suffered injuries in that incident.

Meteorologist Magnus Ovhed measured eight centimeters of snow in Tromsø by 8 AM. Finnmark will receive the heaviest snowfall throughout Monday. Strong winds in West Finnmark and northern Finnmark could create blowing snow conditions.

Northern Norway's sudden winter conditions show how quickly driving can become hazardous. The multiple incidents on major routes like the E6 highway demonstrate even experienced drivers struggle with early winter weather.

Authorities clearly prepared for these conditions with snow removal equipment deployed. Yet the accidents still occurred across different parts of the region.
