A 59-year-old woman died after a man in his 40s immediately alerted emergency services about the incident. At 10:03 a.m., Eirik Sannes, operations leader at Oslo Police District, stated that emergency responders were en route to Tveita following a report of a person hit by a vehicle and that life-saving measures were underway at the scene. Shortly afterward, the woman was confirmed dead at the location. Police cordoned off the accident site to carry out forensic examinations and interviewed witnesses as part of their initial response. By 1:20 p.m., Thomas Pedersen Enger, head of criminal investigation at Oslo Police District, announced that the driver had been formally charged with negligent homicide, which under Norwegian law refers to unintentionally causing another person's death through carelessness or failure to exercise due caution. Authorities seized the vehicle involved for technical and forensic analysis. Police emphasized that there is no suspicion the incident was intentional and no indication the driver was under the influence of alcohol. As of now, the event is treated as an accident. Investigators have not yet disclosed specific details about how the collision occurred. The woman’s next of kin have been notified of her death. The police continue their investigation, which includes reviewing technical evidence and conducting additional witness interviews.
