Cornell Bailey has been forced to stand guard at night beside his food truck on Sundbybergs torg, broken doors, and smashed refrigerators. According to earlier reports from Mitt i, the damage has been so frequent that he cannot leave the truck unattended even for a short time. Weeks later, Cornell still goes out into the dark to protect his livelihood. He says that every time he looks away or steps away from the food truck, someone vandalizes it again. The situation has drawn attention from local residents who admire both his cooking and his character. One resident, who is an administrator of the Facebook group Vänliga Sundbyberg, recently launched a fundraiser to support Cornell. As reported by SvD, community members have already collected nearly twelve thousand Swedish kronor. All donations are sent directly to Cornell’s wife, according to Avan. A supporter shared, “It smells absolutely delicious when you walk past his truck. And he’s also a really kind person.” The ongoing vandalism has made it necessary for Cornell to remain vigilant through the night to prevent further damage to his business. Local news outlets including Mitt i and SvD have covered both the attacks on his food truck and the community response. The Facebook group continues to serve as a platform for neighbors to show solidarity and provide practical help.
