Police are investigating a bar terrace fire in Järvenpää as suspected arson. The blaze broke out during early Friday morning in the Jämä district of this Finnish city.
Investigators believe someone intentionally set the fire. The alarm came just before 4 AM when flames were already reaching the terrace roof.
Lead investigator Anssi Murto stated they have witness accounts of a person at the scene when the fire started. Security camera footage exists but hasn't been fully examined yet.
The fire occurred on Wärtsilänkatu street in Järvenpää, a city located about 40 kilometers north of Helsinki. No injuries were reported from the incident.
Police haven't determined the extent of property damage. Firefighters and officers responded quickly to the emergency call.
This appears to be a deliberate act targeting a local business, which raises concerns about public safety in the community. The timing during early morning hours suggests the perpetrator wanted to avoid detection.
Authorities continue to examine evidence and review surveillance footage to identify potential suspects.
