Police across Norway dealt with several fires, a car that went off the road and a driver arrested with 45 unpaid ATK cases on Sunday.

Trondheim: Emergency services were called to a fire in a building in Gregus gate. Residents had put the fire out themselves. It was a small fire in an outdoor staircase that was already extinguished, and one person was being checked by an ambulance after breathing in some smoke.

Hemnesberget, Hemnes: Emergency services responded to a report of a fire burning under the veranda of a detached house in Hemnes municipality in Nordland. The fire service extinguished the blaze. The fire is believed to have started in a smokehouse, and police are carrying out investigations at the site.

Båstad, Indre Østfold: Emergency services went to Båstadveien after a report of a car that had driven off the road. One person received health care at the scene, and one person was driven to the emergency clinic for follow-up. A recovery truck was at the site and police are opening a case.

Bestum, Oslo: Police checked a car and its driver at Bestum. The driver could not produce a valid driving licence, and further checks showed the person had 45 outstanding ATK cases. The driver was arrested and taken to custody, and will be reported for driving without a valid licence while the unpaid cases are followed up.

Målselv, Troms: Police received a report of smoke coming from a parked trailer. The container trailer was filled with rubbish and was parked without a tractor unit at a turn-off from the E6 near Fleskmoen. The fire service was on the scene and there were no open flames.

Bryggen, Bergen: Police and the fire service went to a rubbish room at Bryggen after reports of smoke. There was no fire. The source of the heat was a broken iPad that had been smouldering, and it was removed from the rubbish room before the resources stood down.

Kløfta, Ullensaker: Police received many reports of a tree lying in the right-hand lane of the northbound E6 just after Kløfta. Drivers were asked to be careful when passing, and police and the road authorities were on their way to the site.

Oslo: Heavy rain had fallen and more was forecast over Sunday. Police said there had already been several minor traffic accidents during the morning, with much indicating that standing water in the roadway caused drivers to lose control. They reminded drivers to adjust their speed and distance to the weather and road conditions.
