All five men charged with complicity in aggravated fraud against Nato will be released, Økokrim said. Two of the remaining suspects will be freed today and the last tomorrow, after one was released on Monday, Aftenposten and NRK reported.
The five men are linked to a company that provides services to the shipping industry and is accused of overbilling Nato by around 11 million kroner from 2021 to 2025, Aftenposten reported. NRK reported that the alleged overbilling concerned services delivered to Nato ships and exceeded 10 million kroner. All five are from the Bergen area and are the owner, general manager and employees of the company.
Four of the men were remanded in custody for two weeks, and one was released on Monday. All five remain charged in the case and deny criminal guilt.
The difference is different assessments of the risk of evidence tampering," Bender said.
