MET Norway has issued an orange-level warning for very high water levels along the coast and fjords in Rogaland. The warning applies from 06:00 to 12:00 on 26 October.
The uncertainty in the predicted water level is 5 to 10 cm, according to MET Norway. More information about the timing of the high water level and values for positions along the coast is available at sehavniva.no.
Flooding may cause extensive damage to infrastructure and buildings in several areas along the coast. The warning advises people to check boat moorings and secure loose items in coastal areas.
Strong winds and large waves combined with high water levels may increase the damage potential in the coastal zone, MET Norway says. Unnecessary travel in the coastal zone should be avoided.
