An older woman in her 80s was robbed in central Sigtuna on Wednesday in a suspected fraud attempt that turned violent, Polisen said.
Several patrols were sent to central Sigtuna after reports of a suspected aggravated robbery against the woman. Police said the case began the way frauds against older people usually do, with phone contact in which fraudsters stress and frighten the older person. A suspected fraudster then used violence when he came to the woman's home to collect her valuables.
The woman was injured but did not need an ambulance. Patrols searched the area and a crime scene investigation will be carried out. No suspect had been found, and police said they did not yet know whether the robbery was completed.
