Posti has released its third quarter results as a newly listed company. The Finnish postal service reported decreased earnings during its first quarterly presentation since going public.
Adjusted operating profit reached €17.1 million between July and September. This compares to €19.3 million during the same period last year.
Revenue fell by four percent to approximately €344 million. The adjusted operating profit margin stood at exactly five percent.
CEO Antti Jääskeläinen attributed the revenue decline primarily to Posti Services segment performance. He said reduced revenue followed the discontinuation of unaddressed marketing services.
Package volumes showed growth despite the overall revenue decrease. The company improved production efficiency in delivery models and optimized resources within Posti Services.
Jääskeläinen noted Posti has implemented multiple measures throughout the year to counter challenging market conditions. He said consumer spending remained generally low during the past quarter while business conditions stayed weak.
Logistics demand remained subdued with continued overcapacity in warehouses, particularly in Sweden. The company maintained its full-year outlook unchanged.
Posti anticipates full-year revenue between €1.44 billion and €1.5 billion. It projects adjusted operating profit of €65-77 million for the entire year.
Trading in Posti shares began on the Helsinki Stock Exchange main list in mid-October. The Finnish state continues as majority owner following the listing.
The results reflect the ongoing transformation of traditional postal services across the Nordic region. While package business grows, traditional mail services face persistent challenges in the digital era.
