Visulahti Opens New Four Million Euro Vehicle Repair Hall

Visulahti businesses are hosting an open house day this Saturday. The Mikke train will transport visitors around various companies throughout the area.

The completion of the Visulahti interchange has accelerated business investments in the region. Companies that have already completed their investments are organizing the Visulahti open house day on Saturday, November 1st. There will be plenty to see and do for visitors of all ages.

The Mikke train will depart from its new depot at Mainospuu and head to Visulahti in the morning. Each trip can accommodate 18 passengers who have reserved their spots in advance.

Throughout the day, the city train will travel from Rami Visulahti to Korjaamo S and V Varis's new hall. The train's mascot, Mikke Bear, will be joining the rides.

Korjaamo S and V Varis is celebrating the opening of its new facilities during the theme day. The traditional Mikkeli-based company has invested approximately four million euros in a new hall that can service ten trucks simultaneously. The first trucks will begin receiving repairs, maintenance, and inspections in the new facilities starting early December.

Visitors can participate in competitions organized by Scania, with winners receiving factory tours to Sweden. New vehicles will be on display, including two new machines—one featuring the latest H7 logging head and another innovative vehicle with advanced technical solutions.

A fire suppression machine will also be exhibited. Young entrepreneurs from Kamppari will be serving pancakes and sausages at their stand.

Guests can also peek into the Ponsse hall, which opened in 2019 and features maintenance spots for three forest machines plus a washing hall.

Rami Visulahti, which opened in February 2022, has gained national recognition as one of Finland's best rest stops. A special signature bread and burger have been created for the theme day.

Mainospuu is bringing its event container where representatives from the local hockey team Jukurit will operate a wheel of fortune. Players will visit other businesses to chat with visitors, organize games, and distribute tickets for evening matches.

Mainospuu CEO Jari Putkonen said he expects strong visitor turnout given the rare opportunity to explore multiple area businesses simultaneously.

The Visulahti development represents continued growth in the region's industrial infrastructure. The new repair facility addresses growing demand for commercial vehicle services in Eastern Finland.

Visulahti Day runs from 10:00 to 14:00 on November 1st. The Mikke train operates nonstop between 10:00 and 14:00.
