On Saturday, approximately three to four centimeters of water flooded the basement floor of a commercial property located on Liepeentie in Laukaa. By the morning of the same day, the Central Finland Rescue Department had no information about where the water had come from or how it entered the basement. A rescue unit from the Central Finland Rescue Department was still actively removing water from the space after ten o'clock in the morning. The affected area measures about one hundred and fifty square meters. The basement has been used as a storage area for vehicles. None of the vehicles stored there were damaged during the incident. Despite the lack of damage to the vehicles, the building itself sustained water-related damage. The exact origin of the flooding remains unclear, and emergency services have not identified the cause. No details have been released regarding possible contributing factors, responsible parties, or whether the water came from a pipe burst, groundwater, or another source. The situation is still under review by authorities. Local businesses and residents have not been given further updates beyond the initial response efforts. The property owner has not issued a public statement about the extent of the damage or potential repair timelines.
