Copenhagen Airport said in a press release on Wednesday afternoon that it had received an order from Trafikstyrelsen, the Danish transport authority, on 6 October, which led to supplementary measures in security control. The measures have recently meant extraordinarily long waiting times for some passengers at the airport, according to DR, Politiken, Ekstra Bladet and Berlingske.
Until now, for security reasons, the airport had declined to say when the authority asked it to introduce the supplementary measures. The airport now says the measures came into force from 8 October and again on both 22 and 23 October.
"On 8 October, 22 October and 23 October, there were periods of long waiting times. There were queues and waiting times of up to an hour early in the morning on Saturday 24 October," the airport wrote in the statement.
The airport announced the sequence of events in the press release issued on Wednesday afternoon. The supplementary measures in security control followed the 6 October order.
