Police have arrested one person after a major fire in a detached house on Nesodden overnight into Tuesday. The fire was reported at 02:59, and the fire service worked to extinguish the blaze at a house on Tømmerbakke vei, near Alværn, according to NRK.

"One person has been arrested on the basis of witness information," said Ronny Mangseth, incident commander for the Øst police district, to VG shortly after 4 a.m.

Mangseth said it had not been established whether the house was set on fire. Police were questioning witnesses and carrying out investigations at the scene, and the fire service was in contact with the house owner. All three people who were in the house were evacuated.

The house is inhabited.

At 03:56, police said they still did not have the fire under control and that the extinguishing work would probably continue for some time. There was no danger of the fire spreading. "The house is situated so that there is no danger of spread to other buildings," Mangseth said.
