Police were alerted after a car was reported to be underwater in the river at Ringstilla, a wetland area east of Rolf Olsens vei 50 in Lillestrøm, in Øst Politidistrikt.
Emergency services were at the scene and searched the car. It was empty. It was initially unclear whether a person could be inside the vehicle, so an air ambulance and the SAR Queen were notified.
Politiet said it is in contact with the car's owner. The car was parked in the area in connection with hunting. The river has since risen and flooded, and it looked as if the car had been taken by the current and carried out into the river.
