A passenger car and a lorry collided head-on on Hallingdalsvegen in Flå, in the Sør-Øst police district. The driver of the car is dead.
The driver was trapped in the vehicle and not contactable when emergency services arrived. The lorry driver was out of his vehicle and appeared unharmed. A doctor at the scene confirmed that the car driver had died.
Traffic is closed in both directions, and police say the stretch will remain closed for a long time. Police crime scene technicians have been notified, along with the accident investigation group and the transport accident investigation board.
The road authorities will put up signs for a detour at Gol, Hønefoss, and Åmot. Traffic is being diverted along county road FV287 and the E16.
