Norway's largest business organization is offering voluntary severance packages to its employees. The Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise confirmed the offer affects approximately 300 staff members. The news was announced during a company-wide meeting on Monday morning.
NHO has experienced membership growth in recent years. But increased operational costs have prompted the organization to seek cost reductions. The voluntary severance program aims to lower total costs by about ten percent.
Nina Kraugerud Ertzaas, communications director, explained the situation. "We choose to offer voluntary severance packages due to rising costs," she said in a statement. "How many employees accept this offer will determine our next steps. These processes can be challenging, but we hope to achieve necessary cost reductions through voluntary solutions."
The organization employs staff at its central office and regional branches across Norway. NHO represents over 32,000 member companies throughout the country. It serves as the main voice for Norwegian employers in policy discussions.
