Greenland Police are holding a large emergency exercise at and around Nuuk Airport on Sunday 25 October. There will be smoke at the airport and emergency vehicles on the scene during the drill.
Police said the exercise is being run together with the emergency services, the health service and Greenland Airports. It means extra callouts and uniforms in the city, and particularly around Nuuk Airport. Anyone unsure whether something is an exercise can follow updates on Politi Update or Facebook.
In other updates, police said a 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder after the death of a 20-year-old man in Nuussuaq. He was to appear at Sermersooq District Court. Two people were also arrested after a stabbing at the Eqalugalinnguit roundabout, and the mobile phone network in Sisimiut is working again.
