The governing board in Region Skåne has withdrawn its decision to ban bicycles on trains during rush hour. The proposed rule, which would have applied from 1 November, drew heavy criticism.
The board reversed the decision last week.
SVT Nyheter Skåne has spoken with several bike commuters who welcome the decision. "I'm very happy that I can continue commuting with my bicycle to work every day," said Louise Börring, who commutes by bike.
Carina Zachau of the Moderate Party, who chairs the Public Transport Committee, said more input will be gathered before the issue is settled again. A new decision is expected in the spring of 2027.
